Welcome to the Tuthill Learning Commons!

We encourage and welcome all students to come to the Learning Commons and enjoy the resources offered. You may come to do homework, work on projects, or to just relax and read a good book or magazine!

The Rules are simple to follow, and are posted around the Learning Commons:

  • You MUST have a pass to be in the Learning Commons
  • Sign in at the desk, leave your pass there
  • No food or drink allowed
  • Turn off cell phones
  • Quiet voices, calm behavior, small groups
  • Priority space and computers are given to pre-scheduled classes doing assignments or single students studying/doing homework.
*You may be asked to leave if these rules are not followed or if space fills up*

Tuthill Learning Commons

If you haven't been in the Learning Commons yet, come take a look. We have a new design; new furniture, a new circulation desk, and new computers as well. When you come in, remember the basic rule: Be conscious of others around you. Respect their right to a quiet study space with no distractions, and behave in an appropriate manner for the space.

Other changes:

This year, we are asking everyone to be particularly aware of the new furniture.

DO NOT BRING FOOD OR DRINK INTO THE LEARNING COMMONS
ONE PERSON PER CHAIR--please sit in them correctly--sprawling across them makes them wobbly; putting shoes on them creates stains.

A CHANGE IN THE ELECTRONIC DEVICE POLICY
Throughout the building, there is now wireless access for student devices. Use your regular student log in to gain access. In the Learning Commons, please follow these rules so that others can study uninterrupted:

1. MUTE all electronic devices.
2. Don't talk on your cell phone in the Learning Commons. If you have to talk, ask
for a pass. Talking out loud is still a distraction to other students trying to
study.
3. No large groups around a single device.
